A rare waterspout, popularly referred to as the scene of "dragon sucking water" in China, appeared on Erhai Lake in Dali of southwest China's
Yunnan
Province on Wednesday, wowing people with its splendid beauty all the way of its moving on the lake.
In videos shot at the scene, the waterspout occurred over the lake water in the form of a column of water and mist extending between the surface and the clouds above, making it a spectacular view.
According to meteorologists, the "dragon sucking water" scene actually is the phenomenon of a tornado appearing over warm water. Usually it involves rain and thunderstorm, moving as rotating itself.
The scene is rare in
Yunnan
Province.
