THE MIRACLE OF A CAR
All the readers of my first book know that the vehicles that I used were all old run-down cars; all 8 of them had a miracle of its own.
I drove one of them as far as Mexico, everything worked out well on that trip to Mexico, but when we came back home, the car got broken down. That was a time when I was without any vehicle; nobody gave away his car to me.
Even though without a means of transportation, yet I still had to do God’s work. Every Monday I had to preach in the downtown Home of the Homeless and to do evangelistic outreach. I felt bad because without a car, I would often be late.
One day I did not even had the money for the bus fare. Because I had no steady income since I quit my motel job, I was living by faith. It was 11:00 am and I was in a hurry to go to downtown, I poured out all my coins from my purse and it was still not enough, I did not know what to do.
I prayed for God to send someone to take me to downtown. Suddenly our pastor’s daughter came to my home, I told her my situation and she brought me to the Home of the Homeless. While I was preaching, I was filled with unspeakable joy which I had not felt before, I was thinking perhaps the Lord is going to reveal something new to me.
After the service, I thought maybe I should walk home because I did not have money for the fare, but it was a long distance from home, it would take a few hours
before I got home. I was sad and prayed to God. As I was walking in the streets, I felt like I was being lifted up, walking on cloud 9.
I was wondering what would happened? As I passed by a perfume store, I walked in without an aforethought. Once I got in, I heard someone calling me: “Amy!” The store owner was a Chinese lady who was formerly a Buddhist, I had shared the gospel with her over 10 years ago. Now that she saw me, she was so excited that she exclaimed: “I had been looking all over for you!”
She pulled me aside and told me that she is now a Christian. I was very happy to hear that. Then she went on to say: “If it was not for you, I won’t be a Christian, do you know I had long been searching for you?”
I asked her the reason why she was looking for me. She said: “Here is a little something I want to give you.” When I opened the small packet that she handed to me, there were 2 keys, Tears rolled down my cheeks.
I said: “Susan, you know God loves me, because I have no car, I don’t even have the money to buy a bus ticket, I don’t even know how I could get home. Today the Holy Spirit had brought me to your store; I don’t know this is yours. But I know God is going to bless you.”
The first time I shared the gospel with her was in another store, her present store is even bigger than the former one. She told me: “When you were sharing the gospel last time, the Holy Spirit had prompted me to give you this van. But you were already gone and I could not find you. Thank God now that He had amazingly brought you to my store. The van is in the parking lot, I want to give the it to you.”
I was so touched by her kindness and generosity, I asked her to take me to the parking lot. She said wait till you have lunch, after lunch she took me to the parking lot. There she was, a Toyota van! I was so excited that I exclaimed: “God will greatly bless you!”
She said: “God already blessed me, I believed in Jesus and was baptized in the Spirit.” There at the parking lot, I held her hand to pray for her and bless her. She gave the van to me, assuring me that it was already insured. I used this vehicle until the year 2000 before I changed it to a _________car.
The van was given to me in 1997, I drove this van to many places, even bringing food, clothing and other supplies to the border of Mexico, going back and forth 3 or 4 times. For only a big size van could accommodate so much food and other stuff.
For the reason that the van was being used frequently and for long distance on the road, so it broke down and was being repaired for a number of times. God gave me a new car in the year 2000, it was a 2000 model______. How I got this car was also a miracle. During that time, the Four Square Church allowed us to use their church located at Main Street for our services.
The Pastor of this church helped me paid for the down payment of this vehicle. At the same time this Pastor is also the General Manager of the car company, through his help I was able to purchase this brand new vehicle, all the paper work and documentation were done very quickly and smoothly. This vehicle was used to transport food and people; to go to airport to pick up ministers from oversea; to transport the young people sent by our church for mission trips and other purposes. Truly this vehicle was a great help to our ministry, it is still being used up to the present time and is in very good condition.
Our ministry has expanded and the expenditures have increase several times. All the bills from my own home, church and car insurance totaled to about $10,000, how could I pay the bills, if not God Himself who oversees and provided everything, it is His ministry and He is in charge and in control of all circumstances, no worry for me.
