Christmas Is in the Heart, Notin a Tree WorldwideOutreach Teaching School Https://www.WorldwideOTS.org Jeremiah 10:2-5
2. This is what the LORD says: "Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them.
3. For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.
4. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter.
5. Like a scarecrow in a melon patch, their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm, nor can they do any good."
Introduction: 1 Christmas tree is we pick out our own tree and cut it down ourselves.2The Christmas tree is an important symbol to most people - it certainly addsquite a bit of spirit to the home, andthe kids love it. 3 Let me say at the outset, there is certainly nothingwrong with having a Christmas tree - I believe I have in myhome the smallest one in the city.
Christmas Is in the Heart, Not in a Tree First, letme reiteratemy point重複主題, "Christmas Is inthe Heart, Not in a Tree"On the Christmas tree, most peopleput thelights, the tinsel, and all the things that go along with decorating forChristmas...these things are much of what makes Christmas important to people: Jerry Shin in an editorial in the CharlotteObserver, wrote, "What is supposed to be a time of peace and good willbecomes, for some, a time when the reality of human greed and folly mocks thelovely sentiments of the season. But I''m not sure anyone can experience whatChristmas really means without confronting that sense of lost innocence and thepotential for disillusionment醒悟 the holiday can bring. Onlyafter we truly face up to Christmas without Santa can we as adults begin tograpple with what Christmas is all about…God''s gift of ultimate hopethat our human destiny is something more than a brief doomed moment in"the benign 有益的indifferenceof our world."
Pint: God made the earth and the heaven. God promises to guide you; knows yourfuture and will be with you all the way. The simplest person who worships God is wiserthan the wisest person who worships a worthless substitute, the man made idles;so in what or whom do you place your trust? Jeremiah 10:1-25, mean idles didnot create the earth and heaven. They were men made, not like God who createdthe earth and the heaven, including stars. … "Whoever worshipsthese gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perishfrom the earth and from under the heavens.'' Jeremiah 10:10-11, …不是那創造天地的神、必從地上從天下被除滅。那拜偶像的人的命運也是滅亡。(P.1072, the Commentary of 啟導本解經)"
