Lord¡¦s first word after His resurrection is ¡§Greetings¡¨ or ¡§Rejoice.¡¨ Paul
certainly lives in the power of this new reality of rejoicing. As Paul¡¦s letter
comes to a close, the theme of rejoicing appears again and again. We will discover
what it means to know the power of Christ intimately and to examine the place
and qualities of joy in the Christian life.

Rejoice in the Lord always.
I will say it again: Rejoice! 5. Let your gentleness be evident to all.

seems strange that a man in prison would be telling a church to rejoice. But
Paul¡¦s attitude teaches us an important lesson: Our inner attitudes do not have
to reflect our outward circumstances. Paul was full of joy because he knew that
no matter what happened to him, Jesus Christ was with him. Several times in
this letter, Pal urged the Philippians to be joyful, probably because they
needed to hear this. It¡¦s easy to get discouraged about unpleasant
circumstances or to take unimportant events too seriously. If you haven¡¦t
been joyful lately, you may not be looking at life from the right perspective.
V.4:5, ³Ì²×ªº³ß¼Ö¨Ó¦Û°ò·þ¡C°ò·þ¦A¨Ó®É¡A§ÚÌ´N¯à§¹¥þÁA¸Ñ³o³ß¼Ö¡CÍ¢¦í¦b§ÚÌùر¡A¬°§Ú̦¨´NÍ¢ªº¦®·N¡CUltimate
joy comes from Christ dwelling within us. Christ is near, and at his
second coming we will fully realize this ultimate joy. He who lives within
us will fulfill his final purposes for us.

God¡¦s peace is different from the world¡¦s peace (John
14:27). True peace is not found in positive thinking,
in absence of conflict, or in good feelings. It comes from knowing that God
is in control. Our citizenship in Christ¡¦s kingdom is sure, our destiny is set,
and we can have victory over sin.

What we put into our minds determines what comes out
in our words and actions. Paul tells us to program our minds with thoughts that
are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy.
Read God¡¦s Word and prays, ask God to help you focus your mind on what is good
and pure. It takes practice, but it can be done.

Learn to rely on God¡¦s promises and Christ¡¦s
power to help us be content. He will supply all our needs, but in a way that
he knows is best for us, we can trust that God will always meet our needs.
Whatever we need on earth he will always supply, even if it is the courage to
face death as Paul did. Whatever we need in heaven he will supply. We must
remember, however, the difference between our wants and our needs. Most people
want to feel good and avoid discomfort or pain. We may not get all that we
want. By trusting in Christ, our attitudes and appetites can change from
wanting everything to accepting his provision and power to live for him.

»P§Ú̦P¦b¡CIn many ways the
Philippian church was a model congregation. It was made up of many different
kinds of people who were learning to work together. But Paul recognized
that problems could arise, so in his thank-you letter he prepared the
Philippians for difficulties that could crop up within a body of believers. Paul
though a prisoner in Rome, he had learned the true secret of joy and
peace-imitating Christ and serving others. By focusing our minds on Christ we
will learn unity, humility, joy, and peace. We will also be motivated to live
for him. We can live confidently for him because we have ¡§the grace of the Lord
Jesus Christ¡¨ with us.

5. µ²½×Conclusion:

something the whole community does together. I may refuse to rejoice, but my brothers and sisters can help me. Paul
couples joyful worship with attitudes of gentleness and thanksgiving, as well
as with honest prayer and petition to God, when he was in jail. If the
Philippians give themselves to a joyous, gentle, honest, reliance upon God, the
result is not only a lack of anxiety but a full sense of peace. We can
rejoice in the Lord by singing praises in the shower when we get blessed, if we
first take ¡§every situation¡¨ to God in prayer. Prayers of thanksgiving when we
are anxious lead us to the path of peace, which can then turn into the Whole
Church of joy.

(³ò¶) of life. Peter wrote, ¡§Kept by the power of God¡¨ (1 Peter 1:5, KJV).
Paul wrote that we are kept by ¡§the peace of God.¡¨ Power and peace, are both
of God¡¦s giving grace.
2) ¥Rº¡¸£³UFilling Our Minds: ¨Ã¤£¥u¬Oë§i±a¨Ó¥¦w¡AY¦³ÅýC¿q¦b§Ṳ́ߤW§@¤u¡A¬°¦ó¤£ÅýÍ¢¤]¦b§Ú̪º«ä·Q¤W¤]§@¤u¡CC¿q¯à§ïÅܧÚ̪º«ä·Q¡A©M§Ú̶i¦æµo¥Íªº¨Æ±¡¡A«Où¦bµÌ¥ß¤ñ¤H¤¤¬O¨£ÃÒ¤H¡C©e¨©ó°ò·þªº¥Í©R¡A¤]½Tª¾¤F¤W«Òªº¥¦w¦bµÌ¥ß¤ñ¤H©M§ÚÌ·í¤¤¡CNot only does prayer lead to peace, if we have let Jesus work on our
hearts, why not give Him permission to work on our thought patterns as well.
Jesus can transform how we think about issues and how we process things that
happen to us. Paul is a witness
before the Philippians. Living such a life dedicated to Christ also assures
that the God of peace remains with the Philippians and us.
3) º¡¨¬·PContentment: µÌ¥ß¤ñ¤H¦³«ä·Q½Æ²ß«Où¤§¸Ü¡A«Où¤§¥Ø¼Ð¬On¤j®a³ß¼Ö©óC¿q¤§ºÖµ©M¦P¦b¡A¦³C¿q«h¥ô¦ó¨Æ±¡³£±a¨Ó¥¦w©M³ß¼Ö¡CThe Philippians have renewed their concern for Paul in verse 10.
However, the object of Paul¡¦s rejoicing is Jesus the Lord. Involving Jesus in
every situation brings about both peace and joy.
«Où¤w¾Ç·|º¡¨¬, ¥L¦b¥ô¦ó±¡ªp³£¯àº¡¨¬ ! ¨Ì¾aC¿q°ò·þ´N¦³¯à¤O©M±o¨ì©Ò»Ýn. Paul has had to learn contentment, to be ¡§content in any and every situation!
He depended on Jesus Christ alone for both strength and the supply of his
needs.
¨Ó¦Û¤W«Ò¦b°ò·þ¸Ì±¦³¥¦w»P³ß¼Ö, §Ú̬On¬¡¥Xº]¼Ë¥i¤À¨É©ó¥@¬É¡C
Peace and joy that comes from God ¡§in Christ¡¨ reflects a peace and joy that should be shared with other
Christians and lived out before the world.

³ß¼Ö¬ðµoBursts of Joy: «Où¦b4:13¹ªÀy©Ò¦³¤W«Ò¤l¥Á, ¥L¬O¥mÀ{µÌ¥ß¤ñ¤H©M§ÚÌ,©Ò¦³¤§°T®§©M¬Û¤¬¨¥½Í³£¥²¶··Q¨ìC¿q°ò·þ, §Ú̬ݨì«Où´N¬O¬¡¥X¼Ò½d¡CPaul instructs the Philippians, ¡§Greet all God¡¦s people in Christ
Jesus¡¨ (Philippians 4:13). He is reminding the Philippians that all of our
relationships and even messages we communicate are done with Christ in mind. We
see this in the life of Paul.

spend the rest of our lives seeking to live out the model for the mature
Christian life that Paul sets for us in this letter to the Philippians. As we
conform our life (minds included) to the suffering and resurrection of Jesus,
and as we learn to live in ways that result in peace and rejoicing, Paul leaves
