Recently, Qingdao started the construction of the first zero-carbon community project at Olympic Sailing Center. The project is jointly built by Qingdao Energy Group and Qingdao Tourism Group. Through the deep utilization of the smart energy system, the direct carbon emission intensity of buildings in the community will be continuously reduced to zero.
One of the core applications of a zero-carbon community is a zero-emission energy supply system. When constructing the project, Qingdao Energy Group will upgrade and renovate the boiler room, energy efficiency system and photovoltaic power generation system in 10 buildings within the region through reasonable utilization of technologies such as seawater source heat pump, solar photovoltaic and solar heat, wind power generation, sewage source heat pump, and industrial waste heat and gas.
The project will also build an energy intelligent operation and maintenance system, which will realize the multi-energy complementarities of clean and low-carbon energy in the region by automatic control means, so that the community energy system can maintain the normal and stable operation of the community in the future only relying on electricity and heat converted from renewable energy, as well as various low-grade waste heat and free cooling capacity.
It is estimated that the project will directly save 3.03 million kilowatt hours of electricity, 22,000 gigajoule of heat and 5,500 standard cubic meters of gas per year after completion. Meanwhile, it will directly reduce 8,663 tons of carbon emissions per year, equivalent to planting 1,733,000 trees.
At present, the construction of the project has been started. The infrastructure construction is expected to be completed by the end of this year, and the low-carbon, near-zero-carbon and zero-carbon development target will be achieved as soon as possible in the next three to five years.
